The India-US Relationship: Transcending the Geopolitical Imperative

The India-U.S. relations have been on an upswing in the recent past. This essay argues that the bilateral relationship between the oldest and the largest democracies transcends geopolitical imperatives, such as containing the rise of China. This essay highlights the evolving trade and economic interactions, technological cooperation, shared aspirations of building resilient global supply chains, and people-to-people engagement between the two countries to demonstrate the strengthening of the relationship in diverse areas. In the coming years, like in all relationships, there will be a few areas of disagreement. Nonetheless, the economic, social, and technological components of the bilateral relationship will get further consolidated.
