“Interim governments come for a short period of time to achieve certain specific objectives, such as conducting elections. For instance, in 1990, a caretaker government came into place in Bangladesh. It was given a 90-day mandate to conduct elections, shut shop, and hand over things to the next government. What we are seeing now is unique. We are seeing an interim government carrying out constitutional reforms.”
